Close or quit an app

Closes the whole app, not just one window. On a Mac, closing the last window often leaves the app running; ⌘ + Q really quits it.

Mac⌘+Q

How to use it

  1. Click the app you want to close.
  2. Press the shortcut.
  3. If you have unsaved work, the app asks first.

Pro tip

On Windows, pressing Alt + F4 on the empty desktop opens the Shut Down menu.
